Analysis of 2 double page spreads

DPS

double-page-spread

Both these double page spreads are from NME Magazine. They are both very similar in a way that i want to produce my double page spread. I like the fact that the picture pretty much covers the whole double page and that the writing is separated in boxes. This makes it look neat and less rebel like Kerrange Magazine.

Analysis of 2 content pages

Kerrang Contents page - Liverpool live review

nme-contents

I also looked at two contents pages; one from Kerrange and the other from NME. I decided to choose these two pages because i like the way they have been laid out. But once again i went more toward the NME style then Kerrange because the Kerrange content page looks more rock, whereas NME looks more indie which is the look i wanted.

FLO COVER FINAL v4 230.indd

For my front cover i went more towards the Kerrange Magazine then NME. I loved the way (in Kerrange magazine) the band cover the page and overlap the masthead. I also like how it has been laid out and i think the amount of images and text is the right amount for the target audience.

I have not yet thought of a title for my music magazine but i would like to relate it to rock/indie music. My audience would relate to this music so it would attract their attention instantly.

I then looked further into my target audience and worked out their age, class, gender, interests etc:
Male 71%
Female 29%
Average Age 18-23
Working Full Time 45%
Working Part Time 15%
Still Studying 40%
ABC1 69%
Circulation 62,426
Readership 386,000

These pictures are the type of audience that I would like to attract. They are all similar in the style of clothing they are wearing and their interest in music.

The kind of music tht would be featured in my magazine are bands and artists like:
